Supplies: Bug Defense: Prevent mite/ insect from spreading Bug Defense is a food grade bug barrier powder that you use in your fly bins and other feeder insects bins. The barrier prevents mites from spreading to your food cultures and crashing them or allowing mites to spread within your home. Place feeder cultures in a bin and place several mm deep of the Bug Defense at the bottom of the bin. Set cultures on top of this powder to prevent any mites from crawling into cultures, out of cultures or spreading from one to one another. Essential for fruit fly cultures as mites bloom and spread after a culture reached 30 days old. Using bug barrier, you may dust flies that you will use to seed new fruit cultures to remove mites, bug barrier used in this matter will not kill flies. Once flies are added to a fresh culture they will be able to remove the powder. 30oz salt shaker bottleavoid getting powder in eyes, avoid inhalation, wash hands if you contact the powder, use a wet paper towel to remove from unintended surfaces that the powder contacts.
